UKWIN Membership Policy
Classes of Membership
There are two classes of membership of the UK Without Incineration Network: Group Membership and Individual Membership.
Conditions of Membership
Only those who are aligned with the goal of a United Kingdom without incineration are eligible for membership of UKWIN. There are two classes of membership: individual and group. The representative of the group is the one who signs up or renews the group membership and is eligible to vote. As group representatives must be UKWIN members, an application for group membership of UKWIN will be considered a ‘dual-application’ for individual membership by the representative if they are not already a member. Membership is at the discretion of the Directors.
Benefits of Membership
Group Membership confers full voting rights in the conduct of the business of UKWIN, and access to all the benefits of UKWIN
Individual Membership confers access to all the benefits of UKWIN, but does not carry any voting rights in the conduct of the business of UKWIN.
Participation in meetings
A Group Member has one vote. Only the Group Member’s Nominated Representative is entitled to vote at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) or at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM). Where a Group Member’s Nominated Representative cannot attend a meeting of UKWIN, the Group Member can nominate a substitute Nominated Representative to vote on their behalf at a meeting of UKWIN. Normally such substitute nominations are to be advised to the Directors in advance of the meeting where the vote is to take place.
Membership is renewable annually on payment of a subscription fee, the level of which is to be determined at the Annual General Meeting, and the completion of a renewal form confirming the contact details of the Nominated Representative.
The Data Protection Act
If we are asked to do so UKWIN will provide list of Group Members, their Nominated Representatives, and Individual Members to Companies House, as required by law. The list will not be provided to any other body without explicit permission of each member in accordance with UKWIN DPA policy.
