Notes: Planning application submitted in March 2019 and approved in October 2019 (LCC/2019/0021). In September 2019 Veolia applied for an Environmental permit and this was issued in May 2020 (EPR/VP3437QR/A001). Proposals announced in November 2018 for an incinerator that is proposed to treat household and similar business waste arising in Lancashire. In March 2023 it was reported that progress had stalled and that construction had yet to commence [Source] and that according to Lancashire County Council planning permission had "expired with work not implemented" [Source]. It was reported in February 2024 that Veolia "pulled the plug" on this project and surrendered their environmental permit [Source]. (Entry updated 2024-04-30)
