Notes: Planning application received in April 2021 and granted in May 2022 (LA02/2021/0439/F). It was reported in May 2022 that "it is anticipated that the facility will be up-and-running by the end of 2025" [Source]. Various planning conditions were discharged in 2023 and 2024, including the Final (Contractors) Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) which was approved in February 2024. The Construction Traffic Management Plan from May 2024 which is a supplement to the CEMP (LA02/2024/0152/DC) states that: "The proposed construction programme is expected to take 3 years. It is anticipated that construction will commence in Q4 2024". In April 2025 EPUKI implied that they have yet to enter construction and yet to secure waste contracts, stating that while "all pre-commencement planning conditions have now been discharged" that "comprehensive engagement with construction partners is ongoing", that "we are already in the process of securing waste contracts", and that the EPUKI "look forward to moving on to the next phase and the facility being operational in 2028" [Source].
