Notes: In September 2023 a permit application was advertised to treat 145ktpa of RDF through gasification (EPR/BP3325SA/A001). Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council refused planning permission for the initial iteration of the scheme in November 2014 (2014/0559) but an amended scheme was approved in February 2015 for a gasiifcation plant to treat "up to 150,000 tonnes per annum of waste wood and virgin timber through a gasification process" (2015/0137). The scheme was the ammended in 2018 to increase the capacity to 260,000 tonnes per annum and to switch the feedstock to RDF and waste wood (2018/1437). In 2019 a planning conditions were discharged and varied in 2019 (2019/0573 and 2019/0941), including a variation to allow alterations to the design, scale and layout. Permit EPR/BP3325SA issued in August 2024. The Applicant stated in their Planning Statement for application 2019/0941 (for the Variation of Condition 1 of application 2018/1437) to allow alterations to the design, scale and layout of the Renewable Energy Park that: "Commencement of development was implemented on 26 June 18".
