Notes: Planning permission granted by BCP Council for 60,000 tpa plant in December 2022 (ref 8/21/0207/FUL). In October 2024 it was announced that there were plans to increase the capacity from 60,000 tpa of residual waste to 105,000tpa of Refuse Derived Fuel [Source], however as of 5th March 2025 no planning application has been advertised. In September 2020 it was reported that there Eco Sustainable Solutions had plans to build an incinerator [Source]. In May 2024 the Environment Agency did not include this facility in their list of plants that had a permit or outstanding permit application, and no permit application has been publicly advertised as of 25 September 2025. In November 2024 Eco Sustainable solutions Ltd submitted an EIA Scoping Request to increase the capacity to 105,000 tpa and increase the building height (8/24/0808/SCOPE). A scoping opinion was provided in January 2025. In June 2026 a planning consultation began on the proposed expansion to 105,000 tpa, which included the addition of a front-end process to extract up to 25,000 tpa of material prior to the 105,000 tpa of "thermal combustion" at the otherwise conventional incinerator (P/26/02462/FUL). The scheme would involve a higher stack height of 42m compared to the consented 38m. (Entry updated 2026-06-30)
