Notes: Construction began in July 2015 and it was reported in July 2018 that the site was in commissioning and that the facility was expected to be operational in August 2018 [Source, Source]. In July 2019 there was a fire at the incinerator's waste storage unit [Source]. Granted planning permission in August 2013 [Source]. A long-term municipal waste management contract was signed between Viridor and the South London Waste Partnership in November 2012 [Source]. Croydon Council led the procurement process for the South London Waste Partnership (SLWP), which also includes the boroughs of Sutton, Merton and Kingston.
