Notes: Construction began in July 2015 and it was reported in July 2018 that the site was in commissioning and that the facility was expected to be operational in August 2018 [Source, Source]. In July 2019 there was a fire at the incinerator's waste storage unit [Source]. Granted planning permission in August 2013 [Source]. A long-term municipal waste management contract was signed between Viridor and the South London Waste Partnership in November 2012 [Source]. Croydon Council led the procurement process for the South London Waste Partnership (SLWP), which also includes the boroughs of Sutton, Merton and Kingston. Capacity is usually the permitted or maximum advertised capacity of the facility.
