ARROW has been running since December 1995. ARROW’s original aim was to stop a 3 million tonne landfill site, at Round O Quarry in West Lancashire from opening. When that campaign was successful in 2000 after 3 public enquiries and a court case, Lancs County Council opted for incineration. We managed to dissuade them from building an incinerator, through negative press and TV coverage, so they decided to go for refuse derived fuel.
