		<description>Latest message from Simon:

Subject: Cabinet member meeting, press release and group updates

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for everyone&#039;s continued support. This is very much an active fight in Derby with the RRS appeal in September and October for the Sinfin site and as yet we do not know if Cyclamax propose to appeal for their Spondon incineration plant. Please invite as many of your facebook friends as possible to join our group [at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=49232330898 or search on Facebook for No incinerator on Sinfin Lane, Derby - our health matters!].

This is not only important to those living in Derby due to the health threat but also across the UK as others fight such proposals which are popping up like mushrooms.
We have added updates to the group including our latest press release which went out to the media across the UK.

On Thursday 17th June Cllr Poulter agreed to go to financial closure on the RRS waste contract even though the local Conservatives stated at the election such plants should not be built in residential areas. Cllr Poulter also objected to a similar proposal by Cyclamax in Spondon. We met with both Cllr Poulter and the leader of the city council Harvey Jennings before the meeting on 17th. It was clear they had no intentions of changing the councils pre agreed position. They justified commercial confidentiality by indicating the councils were getting a good deal and when asked about constant dioxin monitoring indicated that would cost more clearly putting wealth before health!

Don&#039;t forget to check out our updates !
Thanks
Simon
