Anti-incinerator protesters to stage specially-adapted Christmas carol concert outside Shire Hall
12:14pm Monday 14th December 2009
ENVIRONMENTAL groups campaigning against incineration in Gloucestershire will gather outside Shire Hall to hold a specially adapted Christmas carol concert on Wednesday, December 16. Members of various groups, including Gloucestershire Friends of the Earth Network, will change the lyrics of several well-known carols to highlight their protests against incineration, which the county council is considering to handle Gloucestershire’s residual waste. Councillors will also be handed a giant Christmas card depicting the devastating effects of the 2007 floods to draw the link between incineration and climate change.
