UKWIN AGM 2009

On Saturday 21st March, the City of Nottingham, and local groups Nottingham Against Incineration and Landfill (NAIL) and People Against Incineration (PAIN), played host to a gathering of anti-incineration campaigners from throughout the country, when the United Kingdom Without Incineration Network (UKWIN) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Nottingham Voluntary Action Centre.

UKWIN is now a network of 110+ campaigners and campaign groups. Most were represented at the 2009 AGM, where they listened to guest speaker Peter Jones OBE. Peter Jones, the former Director of waste management firm Biffa, is currently waste advisor to the Mayor of London. UKWIN is grateful to Peter for his presentation, and for staying on to field numerous questions.
