Zero Waste Alliance UK’s AGM is to be held at the Royal Station Hotel, Newcastle upon Tyne (next door to the Railway Station, turn right out of the Railway Station) at 11.00 am on Saturday, 22 November, 2008. This is the first AGM since Zero Waste Alliance UK became a registered charity.
Although only members are entitled to vote, all are welcome to attend. Membership is free for this first year of membership and thereafter will be determined by the members in a general meeting.
A buffet lunch will be available at a cost of £10 per person, but this needs to be booked in advance. Please contact Val on the e-mail address supplied below to say whether you can come so that she has some ideas of numbers and at the same time let her know if you would like to reserve a lunch so she can advise the caterers.
Zero Waste Alliance hopes to discuss the future of the charity and invites the constructive exchange of views as to how it can develop and grow.

Zero Waste is law in Rosario!
Dear all,
Today, 13th November, the Zero Waste law was passed by the city council of Rosario city.
Translating the plan into a legislation was a task in which many people participated, the ones who worked in drafting, presenting, disseminating, correcting, improving, designing the cybercampaign and more…
We would like to thank again all GAIA members that – together with the members of the citizens antiincineration coalition of Argentina – increased the pressure over the government by sending emails to uphold the article banning incineration.
Another phase starts now, to work on the strategy, but now the policy to review consumer patterns and the goals towards reduction are established in Rosario.
A new city joins the growing list of Zero Waste cities!
