Kaye Brennan reported enjoying the UKWIN AGM. She thanked fellow attendees who made many interesting points, resulting in loads of notes. Kaye invited members to visit the www.nail.uk.net website. NAIL is seizing the current opportunity to oppose WRG’s effort to expand Nottingham’s Eastcroft incinerator. WRG’s application was turned down by Nottingham City Council. WRG have now dropped their appeal against this decision. Instead, WRG submitted a new (but not improved) application that has gone straight to appeal by default. NAIL has been granted Rule 6 status – meaning their voice will be heard at appeal. Through NAIL other campaigners can be represented at the appeal. Kaye believes that more can be done to coordinate and organise so that campaign groups help each other out!
