South Tyne & Wear (4/1/08) – DEFRA allow public access to South Tyne and Wear Partnership’s EoI for PFI credits, reversing their earlier refusal.
Hull/Saltend (25/1/08) – Environmental Agency revokes IPPC permit for Saltend incinerator, after legal letter from FoE argues they have not properly consider-ed CO2 impacts. (NB: Permit for Newhaven revoked in December 2007 by High Court on the same grounds).
Newhaven (8/2/08) – FoE issues application for judicial review of East Sussex’s granting of planning permission for the Newhaven Incinerator, arguing that an incinerator of this size will undermine long term regional recycling targets.
Newhaven (31/3/08) – Information Commissioner decides South Downs Waste Services Ltd (subsidiary of Veolia) must reveal information – first time waste company defined as public authority for the purposes of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
